French Film Festival

Bonjour! At campus this week (and every February) there is a French Film Festival. I know, boring, right? Well perhaps some of them may get old after ready all those subtitles at the bottom of the screen. However, the one I went to on Sunday night and tonight were quit excellent and I even learned a few things, too. The first film was titled Conversations with My Gardener which brought elementary school friends back together as boss and gardener in rural France. The rich "boss" wanted a friend and the gardener just wanted to be able to garden, but together they developed a strong and strange friendship. Twas good. And then tonight the film's title, Food Beware, spoke of an organic food revolution in rural France where farmers and their families had been struggling with all kinds of cancers and other health problems for years. Gosh, I have seen a lot of those food production/environmentalist films, but this one was different. It showcased a rural school and their change to buying all their food locally from organic farmers. Sure, not feasible in all cases, but it was a good film that focused on the sunnier side of some the issues while still showing the real problems our environment and health are facing. By the way, UWM has free films open to the public almost daily. :D Isn't that great?

A Summer Update...the boring version

Since I don't want to bore you (or myself) with what "I did today at school," everyday, I've decided to do a little summer update. Mostly pictures, because they are easier to write. And 14 minutes later the photo still didn't want to load. That's alright, though, because I do have some homework to finish this evening. I will have to load pictures from summer on to my computer at school (better internet connection).

A Freestylin' First

I've been thinking about creating a blog for a while now. You see, I always plan to (and even write in my daily planner to) sit down and write letters to loved ones, but the days get shorter and shorter as every busy minute passes. I know you probably can relate. "Blooging" was my solution to this dilemma...and I came up with this little solution about 3 months ago. Now, today, I'm going to follow through! Here we go blog...here we go!
